two thousand thirteen!

Thomas and I brought in the new year.. wait for it.. on the couch! With a bottle glass of champagne. Nothing glamours or exciting, but I was happy to spend the start of this crazy year with just my main man. My only requirements were: a kiss at midnight, and I wanted a picture of us at the start of this new year. Oh and if we were staying in, I wanted sweatpants.

Good news, my handy new camera remote works!

And Thomas loved the power of my the new remote entirely too much.

but I must say, I love these photos so much!

And man-alive can we talk about how annoying and down right sad are the tv programs for the New Years Eve count down? Goodness. We had no real new years eve plans, and I was completely okay with just turning on some Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve and counting down the night with.. Ryan Seacrest (cringe). After about 10 minutes of listening to facebook updates and twitter stats, I just couldn't do it and when our other options was Carson Daly (yikes), we settled on Iron Chef America.
Thank you Food Network, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I'm not going to lie, that last photo is easily turning into one of my most favorite things. The smirk on Thomas' face and me trying to talk to our dog like she actually comprehends complete sentences. The whole thing cracks me up!

It's weird when a year comes to an end. We all have these moments of refections and seeing where we can improve in our lives ahead. I have some new years resolutions in store for myself, (what bride doesn't try to shape up before the big day?) but I also have a completely different look out on my life to come. Thomas has a played a key role into that, this time last year we were just dating, both of us with our own dreams and futures and this year, we now get to tackle the future together. We both see each others goals and dreams and we're both on board to make sure we get there. I love that. There's something so comforting in the fact that I have him on my side for years to come.

2012 was a great year and I can believe we're about to embark onto 2013.
I'll start this year as a Belleville and end it as a Harris.
How crazy and exciting is that? :)

See you next year!

goodbye december.

I hate to see December leave, It always ends so abruptly and turns into the past in only a few short days. My fantastic holiday has quickly come to an end.
Luckily for me I do get to relive it all right here on my blog. I had some technical issues with this bad boy so my apologies (more like, sorry mom and dad) if your inbox was just exploded with email updates.

I love my Christmas tree. And I'll love it even more when I get to unpack it in 11 months.
