while we wait for photos.. let's look at some!

Oh my goodness, how can I even start to describe our wedding? I can't really, thinking back at that day I find myself just smiling, it was magic and so perfect. So obviously I'm so impatiently waiting for our professional pictures. I'm so excited to get those that I can't even stand it! So to help with my need for pictures I've been bugging just about anyone who will let me and getting a random collection of pictures from my friends, to help ease the waiting game. :)

So let's look at some pretty pictures from our pretty day!

Hiding out in pretty much a closest from Thomas right before we all walked down the aisle. I'll love this picture forever. :) Thanks Dad.  

       

 

our wedding invitations.

Now that all our invitations are out and in the hands of our guest I can finally share all the details! Well not all of them because I'm sure I would bore you with my new found love for fonts! Who would have figured that one out?
This was fun. There might have been some rough patches in the mix but overall I loved making our wedding invitations. The map of course is easily my favorite.

I had a few moments where Thomas looked at me like I was a bit crazy.. for example the printer. We sure bonded during this experience and all in all she did well and didn't fail me, (although I killed the yellow ink prettttttty fast) but we had some margin issues. It caused me to not only babysit and fed the printer one by one, but then I went back and trimmed both the invitations and the maps once they were printed (this would be the moments when Thomas looked at me like I was crazy, until I showed him the side by side comparison, there's truth in those pesky details).

Surprisingly I found it oddly therapeutic.  

And I mean, come on.. they look so much better with out that 1/4 of a inch on the top. 

 

It took a good couple of weeks for me to cut all the paper and print everything off-- I did it all in hour spurts after work and on the weekends. It was during this time that I realized I had no idea how I was going to compile them all. Lucky for me I have a mama and some friends to bounce some ideas off of and I landed on the grey envelops and the pretty flower paper that I love so much. My friend Lara came up with the sticker idea which was perfect and gave it that pop of yellow I wanted. They turned into pretty little packages for all our guests to open and I love that. 

Last weekend I dragged all my paper goods up to Ohio and we sat at the table and wrapped our pretty invitations. I really didn't think it was going to take all that long, but it ended up taking us a good chunk of time! And we were all soooo happy that I didn't go with my mama's idea of tissue paper.. oof. 

Here they all are stamped and ready to go! 

It felt weird just leaving them all. I had spend so many evenings and hours working on them that I was (and still am) oddly attached to them.. ha. It was a lot of fun and thanks to Pinterest I did add some fun addresses to the mix.. including: The President and The First Lady, along with Cinderella and Prince Charming. :) Here's hoping we get something fun!! 

thirty years.

I'm so happy and thankful to have parents who not only still love each other after thirty years but who are still married to one another. I'm truly thankful that they've made their marriage work and are so committed to one another. They've given me such a great example and I'm truly thankful that they've stuck together all these years.

bridesmaids.

I really wanted to come up with a clever and cute way of asking my bridesmaids to be in our wedding. The last thing I wanted was a "oh hey.. want to be in our wedding?" This is an important day for us and it should be just as important for the people we've asked to stand up their with us! So thanks to Pinterest's plethora of knowledge I found the cute idea of using a ring pop and I spring boarded from there.
It's actually funny because Thomas and I had our wedding party picked out during those three days it took me to come around and say yes. [Note to self.. if you find yourself talking about future wedding plans and he's already proposed to you.. why the heck are you not wearing the ring?!!]

Yellow and gray were claimed early on (and approved by Thomas) for our wedding colors. So I of course had to incorporate that into these boxes. Each box had a ring pop and a note POPPING the question for them to be in our wedding.

I love them. 

Oh! And I also gave everyone three days to decide. ;) 

It's only fair, right? 

This project was super easy and right up my ally. I found this tutorial for making those cute cute cute felt roses and was so happy that they turned out so well! I'm always afraid that projects that look super simple and easy end up looking like crap. And (thankfully) for these roses that wasn't the case at all.

Lauren was the only one who I wasn't able to give her box in person.. stupid California stealing her away from me. And since Scott is "technically" my bridesmaid he was the only dude to get a bridesmaid box.

I think he liked it ;) 

And I knowwww she liked her's! 

(Goodness.. these summery pictures feel out of place with my previous fall post.. whoops!)

I really love that we each have four people near and dear to our hearts, but that they're not split straight down the middle (in the sense that he has all the boys and I have all the girls). How could I not have his sisters in our wedding, just as he wanted Cullen up their with him and his brother? :)

So exciting! 

something old something new.

Back in December my boyfriend's sister got married. They planned a wedding in a whopping 6 weeks! Six! On our way there I was asked if I wouldn't mind taking some pictures for them. whhhhhat?!! I was so nervous! Yet I think being thrown into the chaos was the best thing, I focused in and snapped away. Plus I love taking pictures, so how could I not? I was planning in doing it anyway, but now I was official.

Those top two are by far my favorite of the hundreds I took. I want them side by side framed on a wall! And they just look so much classier in the black and white. I love them.

They had another friend taking pictures and they wanted someone as a back up, so that took off some pressure. But still being entrusted of capturing a moment like that? I didn't want to disappoint.

Thank you pinterest for some inspiration.

My only regret of the entire day is that I seriously wished I knew my camera inside and out. I'm still on such a learning curve with that bad boy that I caught myself wishing I had my trusty point and shoot.
Over all I was really happy and I was touched that Matt and Jenny trusted me in capturing their wedding :)
